Manali to Nehru Kund
- Our journey to Sissu begins with a stop at Nehru Kund.
- Nehru Kund, a natural spring located just 5 km from Manali on the Leh Highway. Named after India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who used to drink the crystal-clear water from this spring during his mountain stays, it offers a serene atmosphere. Surrounded by lush greenery and the rhythmic sound of the nearby Beas River, it’s the perfect spot to kick off your Himalayan adventure.
Nehru Kund to Zipline Point
- The drive continues from the peaceful spring of Nehru Kund toward Zipline Point (Palchan).
- you’ll find one of the highest and longest ziplines in the region. Feel the ultimate adrenaline rush as you glide across a 500-meter cable suspended high above the roaring Beas River. With 360-degree views of the snow-capped Pir Panjal range and the lush valley below, this isn't just a ride—it’s the best way to see the Himalayas from a bird’s-eye perspective!
Zipline Point to Solang Valley
- After the thrill of the zipline, the road opens up into the magnificent Solang Valley.
- Solang Valley is the “Adventure Capital” of Himachal Pradesh. Located about 14 km from Manali,the venue for Adventure Activities such as Ropeway Joyride, Paragliding & other adventure games.
Solang Valley to Dhundi
- As we leave the bustling energy of Solang Valley behind, the journey takes a serene turn toward Dhundi.
- Dhundi is the “quiet achiever” located further up the road. Situated about 20 km from Manali (and 7–8 km past Solang), Dhundi is a picturesque spot that serves as both a strategic landmark and a pristine base for high-altitude adventure.
Dhundi to South Portal of Atal Tunnel
- As you leave the alpine forests of Dhundi, the road leads you directly to the spectacular South Portal of the Atal Tunnel.
- Located at an altitude of 3,000 meters (approx. 10,000 feet), the South Portal is an architectural masterpiece set against a backdrop of sheer granite cliffs and snow-dusted peaks. This is the exact point where you leave behind the lush greenery of the Kullu Valley and prepare to enter the world’s longest highway tunnel above 10,000 feet.
South Portal of Atal Tunnel to North Portal
- Leave the clouds of Manali behind as we enter the 9.02 km Atal Tunnel.
- The Atal Tunnel, an engineering masterpiece at 10,000+ feet, is famous for its "Portal Effect." In just 9.02 kilometers, you travel through the heart of the Pir Panjal range, witnessing a geographical transformation that usually takes hours of trekking.
North Portal of Atal Tunnel to Sissu
- The moment you exit the North Portal of the Atal Tunnel, the landscape transforms instantly. The lush greenery of Manali is replaced by the majestic, rugged grandeur of the Lahaul Valley.
- Sightseeing Points - Sissu Lake and Sissu Waterfall.
- Sissu, also known as Khwaling, is the first major village you encounter in the Lahaul Valley after exiting the Atal Tunnel. At an altitude of 3,120 meters, it has rapidly transformed from a quiet agricultural hamlet into a major hub for Himalayan tourism.
Sissu to Kokksar
- After exploring the wonders of Sissu, the tour takes a scenic 14 km turn toward Kokksar.
- Kokksar, situated at an altitude of approximately 3,140 meters, serves as the first village of Lahaul and is often called the "coldest place in the region". This charming settlement is a vital link on the Leh-Manali Highway, characterized by its traditional stone houses, prayer flags fluttering in the wind and a stark, majestic backdrop of towering, barren peaks. It is the perfect spot to experience the transition from Hindu culture to the Buddhist-influenced heritage of the high desert.
Kokksar to Manali
- After that return back to Manali.
- Tour ends here with happy memories.
